Coté blogs, je vous avoue avoir fait le tour de ce que j'avais à dire pour le moment... De plus, j'ai bloqué mon compte Picasa qui héberge les photos de mes blogs (on est limité à 1Go, ils sont maintenant atteins)...<br />

Je n’en avais pas parlé encore… Mais au Qatar, le temps ne connait pas les mêmes règles que nous… Comme dirait ma femme, ici, ils sont « Tason »… Ils prennent leur temps, trainassent, ainsi, il nous est arrivé d’attendre plusieurs minutes pour nous garer à la place d’un local qui nous avait fait signe qu’il partait…</div>

Après avoir un peu profité des duty free, la porte d’enregistrement ouvre… A l’entrée, de nouvelles fouilles de bagages… Et là… Pareille ! l’agent me regarde, et alors que j’ouvre mon bagage, il me dit « th’at’s not necessarry for you, you can go ! »et joignant le geste à la parole, il me colle un sticker « Bag controled »…</div>

Pas grand-chose à dire sur le vol du retour, si ce n’est qu’après avoir effectué un vol long-courrier avec Singapore Airlines, les sandwitch froids servis en début de vol (après le saut de puce via Barhein) font au moins autant pâle figure que les écrans « d’ennui interactif » et que les hôtesses non souriantes…</div>

J’ai été aussi un peu vexé par la communication avec l’équipage. Dans l’avion Doha-Barhein-Londres, tous les affichages et toutes les annonces étaient en deux langues, Anglais et arabe.</div>

Dans l’avion qui nous a emmenés de Londres à Lyon, seuls l’anglais étaient utilisés à bord… Si l’on ajoute à ça des avions bondés (qui a dit trop petit ?), et donc des conditions de voyages encore plus inconfortable… </div>

Il est très tôt ce Vendredi matin quand l’hôtesse appel les passagers du vol BA 365. Mais tendu comme je le suis avant chaque voyage exotique, j’attends depuis longtemps dans le hall d’embarquement.<br />
Le temps de prendre le Time et le Herald Tribune, et me voilà au fond de l’avion, à côté du hublot.<br />

A peine débarqué, du bus qui m’a emmené du terminal 1 au 5, il faut faire la queue pour repasser les contrôles de sécurités (pourtant déjà passés à Lyon… Mais je comprendrais enfin au retour pourquoi dans les aéroports internationaux, on doit repasser les contrôles de securité…), ou l’antipathie des passagers essayant de gratter une place rivalise avec le sourire format « porte de prison » des personnels chargés des contrôles… Le temps de les passer, et me voilà dans le hall d’embarquement. Tous les Jelly beans et barres de chocolats double decker n’arrivent pas à me faire lâcher des yeux le panneau d’affichage… Déjà, mon vol est annoncé, porte C57. Il faut traverser trois halls grâce à un train-navette. Ouf, lorsque j’arrive, l’enregistrement commence.<br />

Des nuages, comme des champs de cotons nous masqueront la quasi-totalité des beaux paysages de la Belgique, de l’Allemagne, de l’Autriche, de la Hongrie et de la Bulgarie. Lorsqu’ils se dispersent enfin, au-dessus de la mer noire, c’est pour laisser place à la nuit, aussi noire que les champs pétrolifère d’Iraq (percés tout de même par les flammes immenses et nombreuses des torchères) que nous survolons après avoir passé la Turquie. Enfin, le survol du golf annonce notre descente vers Barhein.<br />
Les trois quarts des passagers descendent ici, remplacés après une heure d’escale par seulement une poignée de locaux qui rentrent chez eux. Drôle d’escale, ou la compagnie nous interdit (de façon polie mais formelle) de descendre de l’avion, mais ou visiblement la présence de passager gênent les manœuvre de ravitaillement de l’avion… Enfin, nous repartons pour un vol très court (environs 140Km), car seulement 30 minutes de vol séparent les deux états.<br />

Posed in Doha, we took the bus up to the airport, where the
operations of border crossing are already underway for two to three hundred
people ... The lobby is crowded, the border, despite the professionalism of
guards, saturated ... But in less than an hour, I can pass control (just smile
at a machine that takes a picture, pay 100 Rial, and to stamp the passport by
the customs) ... I get my suitcase and me this out, it is 23:00 hrs local ...<o:p></o:p></div>

Afin de gagner en stabilité, et contrairement à son rival le DC10, le troisième moteur est placé dans la queue de l'appareil, et non dans la dérive. Celà entraine des délais de conception supplémentairs, a ajouter aux délais causés par la faillite, puis la reprise par l'état anglais du motoriste Rolls Royce.<br />
Le 16 Novembre 1970, l'avion décolle pour la première fois. D'une capacité de 400 places, il est alors considéré comme peu gourmands en carburant et silencieux (enfin... Pour les standards de l'époque!)<br />

7 versions différentes de l'avion ont été produites, pour environs 250 unités (alors qu'il aurais fallut en vendre au moins 500 pour couvrir les coûts) entre la première livraison le 26 Avril 1972 et l'arret de production en 1984. Après cet échec commercial, Lockheed se retire définitivement du marché aérien civile, donnant seulement l'assurance à ces clients d'assurer la fourniture de pièces de rechange tant que ces avions voleraient.<br />
Le 29 Décembre 1972, un tristar assurant le vol N°401 de Eastern Airlines est le premier gros porteur de l'histoire à s'écraser. L'accident est alors attribué à une erreur humaine.<br />

Lancé en Avril 1969, le programme Mercure semblais très prometteur, les études de marchés promettant un potentiel de 1500 appareils.<br />
Effectué sous la direction de Dassault, la fabrication est répartie entre FIAT (Italie), CASA (Espagne), ADAP (Belgique), la Fabrique Fédérale d'Avion FW D'Emmen (Suisse) et Canadair (Canada).<br />
Enfin, l'assemblage finale était exécute par Dassault, sur le site de Mérignac pour le prototype, puis à Istres pour les 9 autres machines assemblées.<br />

Le 28 Mai 1971, le premier avion effectue son premier vol depuis Merignac, quatre jours avant d'être officiellement présenté au Bourget.<br />
Le 30 Janvier 1972, la compagnie Air Inter passe commande de 10 appareils. Ces dix appareils resteront les seuls vendus...<br />

Victime du choc pétrolier, de la chute du Dollar, et d'une piètre motorisation (les Pratt & Whitnay l'équipant sont bruyant et peu économes en carburant), de plus, l'avion souffre d'un mouvement de lacet qui rends les places arrières inconfortables.<br />
<br />
En 1985, le Mercure sera le premier avion à être opéré par un équipage totalement féminin sur une liaison entre Paris et Lyon.<br />
<br />
Le 29 Avril 1995, Air Inter met à la retraite ces deux derniers Mercure.<br />
Le bilan est finalement flatteur, malgré l'echec commercial... Les dix avions ont cumulés 360000 heures de vol, et en 440000 vols ont transportés 44 millions de passagés, sans accidents, et avec une régularité de vol de 98%.<br />
