North American TG Texan

Produit à 15495 exemplaire toutes versions confondues, le North American T6 Texan est dérivé dans la fin des années 30 du NA16.

Il fut construit pour répondre à la compétition "Basic Combat" de Mars 1937, sa victoire lui assura directement 180 commandes de la part de l'USAAC.

Par la suite, la guerre en Europe remplis le carnet de commande, les deux plus gros clients etant l'armée Américaine et le Royale Air Force Britanique.

Surtout utilisé comme avion d'entrainement, le NA T6 pouvait voler à 335Km/ heure, avec un plafond de 7400 mètres avec un rayon d'action de 1175Km.

Équipé  d'un moteur en étoile Pratt & Whitney R-140-AN-1 WASP, l'avion pesait 2t548 avec ces armes.

D'une envergure de 12m81, il était long de 8m84 et haut de 3m57.

It was built to meet the competition "Basic Combat" in March 1937, It's victory assured it directly 180 orders from the USAAC.
Thereafter, the  war in Europe filled the order book, the two largest customers being the U.S. Army and the Britanic Royal Air Force.
Mainly used as a training aircraft, the NA T6 could fly 335 km/h, with a ceiling of 7400 meters and a range of 1175Km.
With a star engine Pratt & Whitney R-140-AN-1 Wasp, the aircraft was 2t548 with all weapons.
With a wingspan of 12m81, it was  8m84 long and 3m57 high.
